Our City Council has directed staff to work on putting together a plan to annex to the Kent RFA.  This will take a lot of work as the two departments get together to develop the plan.  Both the Kent administration and Union have indicated thier agreement and support of this decision as well.  We will work to keep you updated as things move along.

First and foremost for our Local is to vote on whether we support this decision or not.  There is a current online vote at this website for our Local.  Take the time to consider your decision and then go to the online voting page and make your vote.  Voting yes will enable the Executive Board to work with both department administrations and the Kent Union to put together the plan for annexation.

It is election time and we have a contested position.  We have two canidates for the office of Vice President.  The term is two years and plenty of gray hairs are guarenteed.  The two members vying for the position are: Dan Flood and Lawton Montgomery.  We have set up online voting that will open on Jan. 11 and close Jan. 31 at midnight.  You need to login to the member section to vote.  If you have forgotten your password contact Brian Bailie and I can reset your password.  Good luck to both of the canidates.

The final vote has been counted and the negotiations committee is complete.  Jeff richardson was elected in the final electronic vote.  Your Negotiations Committee Members are;

They will be meeting as a committee and one of the first orders of business will be to solicit the desire of the membership as we develop our package.  Give the Committee your input and your support.  There will be a need for Union Trades as we move forward.

For this year's election of a negotiations committee, we need to have a run-off election for the forth member of the committee elected by the membership.  Richardson and Catlin were tied after the first round of voting so this needs to be decided by a run-off election.  Secretary/Treasurer Bailie is working to get the voting set-up for on-line voting through our website.  This will include reseting usernames and passwords for anyone who cannot remember theirs.
