American Sugar Crystal workers locked out

News from the MLKCLC ~ We have received notification from the Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota AFL-CIO State Federations that 1300 worker at American Sugar Crystal facilities in those states have been locked out of their jobs since August 1st. These workers are represented by Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers, AFL-CIO. The company has brought in replacement workers.

Celebrating Veteran's Day for One of our Own

Thank you to all those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. On this special day, we would like to recognize one of our own members who continues to serve. Tim Martinsen, a Captain with the SeaTac Fire Department, has served 20+ years in the Coast Guard Reserve and has traveled the world in conflict after another. The picture below shows him flying the IAFF Colors in Korea.

Support IAFF Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation

The IAFF has partnered with BLEVE Entertainment http://www.helpthegoodguys.com to raise money for the IAFF Fire Fighter Charitable Foundation which provides financial support to the families of Fire Fighters injured or killed in the line of duty.
